Exam Rescheduling, Cancellation and No-Shows

Plans change. This page explains how to move or cancel an exam booked at our test centre in Mazzeh, which deadlines apply, and what happens on the day if something goes wrong.

Who Sets the Rules

Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric in Mazzeh. Rescheduling, cancellation and no-show rules are set by the exam's delivery provider, Pearson VUE or Prometric, and by the awarding body, not by Alalamia. This page summarises the usual rules to help you plan, but your own programme's published rules always prevail.

Please read the rules for your exam when you book, and keep your booking confirmation. If you are unsure whether your exam is delivered at our centre, see the list of exams we deliver on our Book an Exam page or ask us.

How to Reschedule or Cancel

You can change or cancel your appointment in either of two ways:

Exam fees are paid to the exam provider, so any refund for a cancelled exam is made by the provider under its own rules, usually to the original payment method. Alalamia cannot refund an exam fee on the provider's behalf.

  • Through your own account with the exam provider or awarding body, using the link in your booking confirmation. This is usually the quickest way, and you receive a new confirmation straight away.
  • With our help. Call or WhatsApp us, or visit the centre, and we will make the change with you or guide you through it. Please contact us at least 2 working days before your provider's deadline so there is time to complete it. If your booking was made through your own account, you may need to sign in with us so the change can be made.

Deadlines

Deadlines differ by programme. Many exams can be rescheduled or cancelled without charge up to 24 or 48 hours before the appointment. Some programmes ask for longer notice, sometimes several days or more, and may charge a fee for changes made within a set period before the exam.

Changes requested after the deadline are usually refused, and the exam fee is normally forfeited. To be safe, treat your deadline as the earliest one that could apply and make any change as soon as you know your plans have changed. A booking confirmation or the provider's website will show the exact deadline for your exam.

Arriving on the Day

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment. You will need time to check in, show your identification, store your personal belongings and read the testing rules.

Under most providers' rules, a candidate who arrives more than 15 minutes late may be refused admission and treated as a no-show. Some programmes are stricter. Please allow for traffic and plan your journey to Mazzeh Western Villas with time to spare.

Missing Your Exam

If you do not attend, or arrive too late to be admitted, you will normally be recorded as a no-show and lose the exam fee. A new appointment must then be booked and paid for in the usual way.

Some providers will consider an exception for serious, documented emergencies, such as a medical emergency or bereavement, when you contact them promptly. Any decision rests with the provider. Tell us as soon as you can and we will help you contact them.

Identification Problems

You must present valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification that meets your programme's requirements. The name on your ID must match the name on your booking exactly, including its spelling and order. Some programmes require a second form of identification.

If your ID is missing, expired or does not match your booking, the centre must refuse admission under the provider's rules, and this is normally treated as a no-show. To avoid this, check your booking details against your ID as soon as you book. If something does not match, contact us or the provider well before your deadline so it can be corrected.

If We Have to Cancel

Occasionally the centre may need to cancel or interrupt a session because of a power cut, a loss of connectivity, a technical fault or another disruption beyond a candidate's control. If this happens, we will tell you as soon as possible and work with the provider to rebook you at no cost to you, under the provider's rules.

If an exam is interrupted after it has started, the provider decides how the attempt is handled, which may include resuming it or giving you a new appointment. We will report the incident to the provider promptly and keep you informed until it is resolved.

Questions and answers

It depends on your programme. Many allow changes up to 24 or 48 hours before the appointment, while others need longer notice or charge a fee. Your booking confirmation and the provider's website show the exact deadline, and they always prevail.

Yes. Contact us at least 2 working days before your provider's deadline and we will make the change with you or guide you through it. You can also do it yourself through your provider account.

Please arrive 30 minutes early. Under most providers' rules, arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean you are refused admission and treated as a no-show, which normally means losing the exam fee.

Usually not. A no-show normally forfeits the exam fee, which is paid to and refunded by the exam provider, not Alalamia. For serious documented emergencies, contact the provider promptly; we can help you do so.

We will tell you as soon as possible and work with the provider to rebook you at no cost to you, under the provider's rules.
