Accessibility and Exam Accommodations

Everyone deserves a fair chance to learn and to show what they know. Tell us what you need, and we will do our best to make your course work for you and help you request the right support for your exam.

Accessible learning at our centre

If you have a disability, a health condition, a learning difference such as dyslexia, or any other need that affects how you learn, please tell us when you enrol, or at any time before your course starts. You do not need to share more than you are comfortable with, and the information is kept confidential and used only to support you.

Our centre is in Damascus, Mazzeh Western Villas. If you have questions about access to the building or the training rooms, call or message us before your first visit and we will talk you through it.

  • Seating that suits you, such as near the front, near the door or away from glare.
  • Course materials in a larger print or a digital format you can enlarge or use with assistive software.
  • Extra time for in-course quizzes, practical tasks and our own assessments.
  • Rest breaks during long sessions.
  • A quieter space for in-course assessments, where one is available.

Learning live online

Many of our courses can be followed through live online classes, which can be easier if travel to the centre is difficult. You can usually use your own screen settings, captions where the platform offers them, and the assistive tools you already rely on.

Our self-paced library lets you study at your own speed and return to lessons as often as you need. Ask your course advisor which format best suits the course you have chosen.

Official exam accommodations

Accommodations for certification exams, such as extra time, a separate room, a reader, a scribe, additional breaks or permission to bring medical equipment, are decided by the awarding body or by the exam provider, Pearson VUE or Prometric. They are never approved by the test centre, and we cannot add them on the day.

Approval must be in place before you book your exam. If you book first, the standard arrangements will apply, and you may need to cancel and rebook once your accommodation is approved. Once you have approval, tell us your exam code: we confirm the exam and the arrangements at our centre before you book. The list of exams we deliver is on our Book an Exam page.

How requests usually work with Pearson VUE

For exams delivered by Pearson VUE, each exam programme sets its own accommodation process. For some programmes you apply to Pearson VUE's accommodations team; for others you apply to the awarding body itself, which then informs Pearson VUE.

In general, you complete the programme's request form, attach supporting documentation from a qualified professional describing your condition and the support you need, and wait for written approval. Reviews commonly take several weeks, so apply well before your planned exam date. Once approved, accommodated exams are often booked through a dedicated route rather than the standard online booking.

Pearson VUE also publishes a list of comfort aids, such as certain medical items, that may be allowed in the test room without a formal request. Check the current list before your exam day.

How requests usually work with Prometric

For exams delivered by Prometric, the request is normally made to the awarding body, following its own rules and forms. The awarding body reviews your documentation and, if it agrees, tells Prometric which accommodations to provide.

Some programmes ask you to apply when you register for the exam, before you receive permission to schedule. Approval can take several weeks, and you will usually need to book through the route your programme explains once you are approved. Keep a copy of your approval letter or email and bring it to the test centre if asked.

How we help you prepare your request

We cannot approve an accommodation, but we can make the process much easier. Our advisors will help you find the right policy for your exam, understand which documents are needed, and plan your preparation around a realistic timeline.

When your approval arrives, we will check with you that the arrangements are in place for your appointment at our centre in Mazzeh. If your exam is taken through another route, such as online proctoring, we help you follow that route's accommodation process.

  • Identifying whether your exam is delivered by Pearson VUE or Prometric and who handles accommodation requests.
  • Explaining the forms and the type of supporting evidence usually requested.
  • Building your training schedule so you are ready by the time approval is likely.
  • Helping you book once your accommodation is confirmed.

Accessibility of our website

We also want our website to be easy for everyone to use. Our accessibility statement at accessibility.html explains what we have done, any known limitations and how to tell us about a problem.

Questions and answers

Not on its own authority. Official exam accommodations are approved only by the awarding body or by Pearson VUE or Prometric, and they must be in place before you book. We can help you prepare your request.

It varies by programme, but reviews commonly take several weeks, and some need extra information. Apply as early as you can, ideally before you start your final weeks of preparation.

Usually not. For our own classes and in-course assessments, simply tell us what helps you. Official exam accommodations are different and normally require documentation from a qualified professional.

If your exam is delivered through Pearson VUE or Prometric at our centre and your accommodation has been approved, we will check with you before the day that the arrangements are in place. If your exam is taken through another route, we explain how accommodations work there.

Let's plan your next step together.

Tell us the course or certification you have in mind and we'll send the outline, upcoming dates, fees and private-team options.
