Study live online from anywhere
Whether you are in Dubai, Riyadh, Berlin or Aleppo, you can join Alalamia's live classes with a real instructor, at evening times that fit your working day, and earn the same Alalamia certificate as our learners in Damascus.
Live classes with a real instructor
Our online classes are not pre-recorded videos. Each session is taught live by an Alalamia instructor who explains, demonstrates and answers your questions as you go. Teaching is in Arabic, so complex ideas are clear from the first session, while course materials are in English, the language of the certification exams and of most workplaces in the field.
You join from your laptop with a stable internet connection, take part in discussions, work through exercises and practise the skills the course is built around. You learn alongside colleagues from Syria, the Gulf and beyond, which makes for a richer exchange of experience.
- Live, interactive sessions with an Alalamia instructor
- Explanation in Arabic, materials in English
- Questions answered in class, not left for later
- Learners from Syria, the Gulf and further afield in the same class
Time zones and evening schedules
Damascus is on UTC+3 all year. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain share the same time, and the UAE and Oman are one hour ahead at UTC+4. That small difference makes it easy to plan classes that suit everyone.
Most of our online classes run in the evening, after the working day ends across the region. As an example, a class starting at 7pm in Damascus starts at 7pm in Riyadh and at 8pm in Dubai. If you live in Europe or elsewhere, tell us where you are and we will show you how the schedule looks in your local time before you enrol.
- Damascus, Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait and Manama: UTC+3
- Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat: UTC+4
- Evening classes designed around working professionals
- Schedule shown in your local time on request
Every live session is recorded
Power cuts, a weak connection, a late meeting or a flight can happen to anyone. That is why we record every live session and make the recording available to the learners enrolled in that class, so a missed evening never means a missed lesson.
Recordings are also a useful revision tool. Many learners rewatch a difficult topic before an exercise or in the weeks leading up to their exam.
The same certificate and the same exam preparation
Studying online does not mean a lighter course. Online learners follow the same curriculum, work with the same materials and are assessed to the same standard as learners in our Damascus classrooms. When you complete your course, you receive the same Alalamia certificate.
If your goal is an international certification, your preparation is exactly the same as well: the exam objectives, practice questions and guidance on exam technique. Training is open to everyone, wherever you live, for any of the certifications we prepare for.
Where to sit your international exam if you live abroad
International certification exams are delivered by exam providers such as Pearson VUE and Prometric. If you live outside Syria, you can book your exam at any Pearson VUE or Prometric test centre near you, and whenever you are in Damascus you can sit it at our own Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric in Mazzeh. Some awarding bodies deliver their exams online with remote proctoring, which you can take from home.
Each exam provider and awarding body sets its own requirements, for example programme prerequisites, the ID you must bring (your name must match your registration exactly) and rescheduling deadlines. Before you enrol, we will confirm the exact exam and how and where you can sit it. Exam fees are separate from the course fee and are paid directly to the exam provider.
