CompTIA courses in Damascus, from your first IT job to security
Vendor-neutral IT skills that employers everywhere recognise. We teach A+, Network+, Security+ and the advanced CompTIA certifications in Mazzeh, live online or for your team, so you can train and sit your exam in Damascus.
Why learn CompTIA
CompTIA certifications are not tied to any one manufacturer. A+ teaches you to support the laptops, printers, operating systems and small networks found in every office in Damascus, whatever brand they carry. Network+ and Security+ then build the shared language that IT teams, help desks and security departments use worldwide. That is why so many job adverts, in Syria, the Gulf and Europe, list them as a basic requirement.
For someone starting out, the CompTIA ladder gives order to a field that can feel endless. Each step has a published list of objectives, so you know exactly what you need to master, and each one prepares you for the next. For experienced staff, CompTIA is a fast way to fill gaps in self-taught knowledge and to prove those skills to an employer abroad.
The CompTIA path, step by step
Most learners follow the core sequence, then specialise. You do not have to start at the bottom if you already have the experience; we assess your level first.
- Starting point (optional): CompTIA Tech+ (FC0-U71) for complete beginners who want a broad introduction to IT.
- Step 1: CompTIA A+, two exams (220-1201 and 220-1202), covering hardware, operating systems, troubleshooting and support.
- Step 2: CompTIA Network+ (N10-009), covering how networks are built, addressed, secured and repaired.
- Step 3: CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701), the core security certification for anyone moving into a security role.
- Specialise in defence with CompTIA CySA+, in offensive testing with CompTIA PenTest+, or in senior architecture with CompTIA SecurityX (CAS-005).
- Branch sideways with CompTIA Linux+, Server+, Cloud+ or Data+ depending on the job you want.
- A+, Network+ and Security+ are valid for three years and are renewed through CompTIA's continuing education programme.
How we teach CompTIA
Every CompTIA course is available in three ways: in person at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, as a live online class with the same trainer in real time, or as a private programme for your company's IT team, scheduled around your work. The trainer teaches in Arabic and the materials are in English, because the exams and the job itself are in English. You learn the concepts in the language you think in, and the terminology in the language you will be tested in.
Classes follow the published exam objectives line by line. Each topic is followed by practical work: building and troubleshooting machines, configuring small networks, reading logs and working through realistic support tickets. We finish with timed practice questions in the exam style so that nothing on the day is unfamiliar. Learners who complete the course receive an Alalamia certificate.
The CompTIA exam: who awards it and where you sit it
CompTIA awards the certification, and its exams are delivered by Pearson VUE. Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so you can sit A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, SecurityX, Linux+, Cloud+ and Tech+ at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, on a secure, individually proctored workstation, under the same international security rules as any test centre worldwide. Your result is recorded directly with CompTIA.
Tell us the exact exam code and we will confirm it before you book or pay. The exam fee is set by CompTIA and paid to the exam provider, separate from the course fee, and the name on your candidate account must match your ID exactly. Many learners book their exam date towards the end of the course, while the material is fresh. The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.
Who CompTIA suits
CompTIA is the right choice when you want skills that transfer between employers and technologies rather than expertise in a single product.
- School and university graduates who want a first job in IT support or a help desk.
- Self-taught technicians who want their knowledge organised and recognised.
- IT staff in Damascus companies who manage computers and networks without formal training.
- Professionals planning to work abroad who need a certification employers ask for by name.
- Anyone aiming for cybersecurity who needs strong networking and security foundations first.
