Cybersecurity courses in Damascus: defend, test and govern

Cybersecurity is not one job but three: watching for attacks, finding weaknesses before attackers do, and setting the rules that keep an organisation safe. We help you choose your direction and train you for it with hands-on labs, so you can train and sit your exam in Damascus.

Why learn cybersecurity now

As Syrian banks, telecoms operators, ministries and growing private companies reconnect with international systems, they bring more of their work online, and every new connection is a door that someone has to guard. Phishing emails, ransomware and stolen passwords are daily realities for organisations in Damascus, yet people who can recognise and respond to them are still scarce. That gap is an opportunity for anyone willing to learn the craft properly.

Security is also one of the few fields where skills travel easily. The tools, frameworks and attack techniques are the same in Damascus, Dubai and Berlin, so the investigation you practise in our lab is the same work you would do for an employer anywhere. And because security touches every system, it rewards people who keep learning, which makes it a career with a long road ahead rather than a single course.

Choose your direction

Everyone starts with the same foundations, then the path divides. We advise you on the direction that fits your background before you enrol.

  • Foundations: networking and operating systems first (CompTIA Network+ or equivalent), then EC-Council Network Defense Essentials or Ethical Hacking Essentials as a first look at security.
  • Core credential: CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) or EC-Council Certified Cybersecurity Technician (CCT), proving you understand threats, controls and secure practice.
  • Defensive path (blue team): SOC Level 1 and SOC Level 2 hands-on training, then CompTIA CySA+ or EC-Council Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) and Certified Incident Handler (ECIH).
  • Offensive path (red team): Ethical Hacker Bootcamp and Web Penetration Testing, then EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or CompTIA PenTest+.
  • Governance and audit path: ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, leading to ISACA CISM or CISA.
  • Senior level: ISC2 CISSP for experienced professionals who design and lead security programmes.

How we teach cybersecurity

Security cannot be learned from slides alone, so our courses are built around lab work. You analyse suspicious emails and network captures, hunt for malicious processes on Windows and Linux, read alerts in a SIEM and, on the offensive path, attack deliberately vulnerable machines in an isolated environment. Every exercise is legal and contained, and we teach the ethics and the rules of engagement alongside the technique.

You can study in person at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, join the same class live online, or arrange a private programme for your organisation's IT or security team, which we can shape around the systems you actually run. Trainers explain in Arabic, while materials, tools and lab instructions stay in English, the working language of the field. Completing a course earns you an Alalamia certificate.

Security exams you can sit at our centre

Each certification on this path has its own awarding body, and most of them are delivered through Pearson VUE. Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so CompTIA Security+, CySA+ and PenTest+, ISC2 CC, SSCP and CISSP, and EC-Council exams such as CEH, through EC-Council's Pearson VUE route, can be sat at our centre in Mazzeh, on a secure, individually proctored workstation, with results recorded directly with the awarding body.

ISACA's CISM and CISA are delivered through ISACA's own testing partner, PSI, rather than at our centre. For those, we prepare you fully and help you register through ISACA's own route. Whichever exam you choose, tell us the exact exam code and we will confirm it before you book or pay. Exam fees are paid to the exam provider, separate from the course fee. The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.

Who cybersecurity suits

Curiosity matters more than a computer science degree, but you do need patience for detail and comfort with networks.

  • Network and system administrators who are increasingly asked to handle security.
  • IT graduates who want a specialised, in-demand career rather than general support.
  • Bank, telecoms and government staff responsible for protecting sensitive data.
  • Auditors and compliance officers moving into information security governance.
  • Developers who want to understand how their applications are attacked and how to defend them.
FAQ

Questions and answers

No. You need a good grasp of networks and operating systems. Scripting helps later, especially on the offensive path, and we can recommend a Python course when you are ready.

Yes, when it is done with permission. All our practical work happens in isolated lab environments built for the purpose, and we teach the legal and ethical boundaries as part of every course.

For most people, CompTIA Security+ or EC-Council CCT. We look at your background and goals together, recommend the right first certificate, and confirm how and where its exam is delivered before you book.

Yes. We run private programmes for organisations in person, at our centre, or live online, with a written quote in US dollars. Corporate terms are typically 70% on confirmation and 30% on delivery.
