CMA exam preparation in Damascus
Study for Part 1 and Part 2 of the Certified Management Accountant exam with a structured plan, taught in Arabic from English materials, in Mazzeh Western Villas or live online, so you can train and sit your exam in Damascus.
Why accountants in Syria study for the CMA
The Certified Management Accountant credential, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), is built around the work that sits between the books and the boardroom: planning, budgeting, costing, performance measurement and the financial decisions that follow. For an accountant who wants to move from recording transactions to advising managers, it is one of the clearest signals an employer can read, in Syria and abroad.
As businesses in Syria rebuild, adjust to the new pound and look again at their costs and investments, people who can turn figures into decisions are in demand. CMA study gives you a common language with finance teams in regional and international companies, and the discipline of preparing for it sharpens skills you will use at work the very next morning.
The path to the CMA
The CMA has two exam parts, which can be taken in either order. IMA's full requirements apply on top of the exams, so check them on IMA's own site before you register.
- Start with a placement conversation: we look at your accounting background and your English reading level, and suggest a refresher such as Cost and Management Accounting or Financial Statement Analysis if you need one.
- Join IMA as a member and pay the CMA entrance fee directly to IMA. This opens your candidacy.
- Prepare for Part 1: Financial Planning, Performance and Analytics, covering planning, budgeting and forecasting, performance management, cost management, internal controls and technology and analytics.
- Prepare for Part 2: Strategic Financial Management, covering financial statement analysis, corporate finance, decision analysis, risk management, investment decisions and professional ethics.
- Register with IMA, then book each part through Prometric at our Mazzeh centre. Exam fees are separate from our course fee and are paid to IMA.
- Complete IMA's education and professional experience requirements to be awarded the CMA. When you finish our course you also receive an Alalamia certificate of completion.
How we teach it
Each part is taught as its own programme, so you can concentrate on one exam at a time. Sessions are delivered in Arabic, so concepts land quickly, while all reading, formulas and practice questions stay in English, because that is the language you will face on exam day. We spend real time on the essay questions, which many candidates underestimate, and practise writing short, structured answers to scenario questions in English.
You can study in person at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, join the same programme as a live online class from anywhere in Syria or abroad, or book a private programme for a finance team. For companies, we can run the course on a schedule that fits month-end and year-end closing.
- In person at Mazzeh Western Villas, Damascus
- Live online classes with the same plan and practice work
- Private programmes for finance and accounting teams
- Arabic instruction with English materials and English practice questions
The exam: who awards it and where you sit it
The CMA is awarded by IMA, and the exams are delivered by Prometric. Each part combines multiple-choice questions with essay scenarios, all in English.
Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so you can sit both parts of the CMA at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, on a secure, individually proctored workstation, under the same international security rules as any test centre worldwide. Your result is recorded directly with IMA. You register with IMA first, then schedule your appointment with Prometric, and we help you through both steps. Tell us which part you are sitting and your preferred dates, and we will confirm them before you book or pay. Exam fees are paid to IMA, separate from the course fee, and rescheduling follows Prometric's rules. The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.
