Python courses in Damascus, from first line to professional

Start with no programming background and finish able to write, test and organise real programs, with clear next steps into data, AI, automation or the web. Train and sit your exam in Damascus.

Why learn Python

Python is often the first language people learn and the last one they stop using. Its syntax is readable enough for a complete beginner, yet the same language runs data analysis in banks, automation scripts in IT departments, machine learning research and the back end of many websites. Learning it once gives you a tool you can apply in almost any job.

For students and professionals in Damascus, Python is also one of the most practical routes into remote and freelance technical work: a laptop and a solid grasp of the language are enough to start building tools, analysing data or automating tasks for clients anywhere. And because so much of today's AI tooling is written in Python, it is the natural foundation for anyone who wants to work with AI rather than only use it.

Your Python path

The Python Institute certifications give the language a clear ladder, and our courses follow it. Once you have the core, you choose a branch.

  • Step 1, the foundations: Introduction to Python or our PCEP preparation course, covering variables, data types, conditions, loops, functions and basic data collections.
  • Step 2, first credential: PCEP, Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer.
  • Step 3, the associate level: PCAP, Certified Associate Python Programmer, adding modules and packages, exceptions, strings, object-oriented programming and working with files.
  • Step 4, professional depth: PCPP1, Certified Professional Python Programmer Level 1, for advanced object-oriented design, coding conventions, GUI programming, network and file processing.
  • Branch into data: PCED and PCAD, the data analyst credentials with Python, alongside Python for Data Science.
  • Branch into AI: PCEI, Certified Entry-Level AI Specialist with Python, and Python Machine Learning.
  • Branch into testing or the web: PCET and PCAT for software testing with Python, and Flask Development with Python for web applications.

How we teach Python

Programming is learnt by writing programs, so most of each session is spent at the keyboard. The trainer explains an idea, demonstrates it in a short piece of code, then sets you an exercise straight away. Mistakes are discussed openly, because reading an error message calmly is half the skill. Each level ends with a small project you keep, such as a command-line tool, a data report or a simple web application.

Join a group in person at Mazzeh Western Villas, follow the same course live online, or arrange a private programme for a team that wants to automate its own work. Explanations are in Arabic, while the materials, code and exercises are in English, which is the language of Python itself, its documentation and the wider developer community.

  • Group classes in person at Mazzeh Western Villas, Damascus
  • Live online classes with the same trainer and exercises
  • Private programmes for teams that want to automate their work
  • A small project at the end of each level
  • An Alalamia certificate on completion

The Python Institute exams: who awards them and where you sit them

PCEP, PCAP, PCPP1 and the related credentials are awarded by the OpenEDG Python Institute. They are vendor-neutral: they test your command of the language itself, not any one company's product.

The Python Institute's PCAP and PCPP exams are delivered through Pearson VUE, and Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so you can sit them at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas on a secure, individually proctored workstation. Other Python Institute exams, such as PCEP, are taken through the Institute's own testing service; for those, we explain how the exam is taken and help you register. Either way, tell us the exact exam code and we will confirm it before you pay any exam fee.

Your preparation runs alongside: you can complete every level with us and receive an Alalamia certificate, and the projects you build along the way are often what employers and clients look at first. The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.

  • Awarding body: OpenEDG Python Institute
  • Delivery: PCAP and PCPP through Pearson VUE at our Authorised Test Centre in Mazzeh
  • Exam fees: separate from the course fee and paid to the exam provider
  • Training: open to everyone, with an Alalamia certificate on completion

Questions and answers

Yes. Our first level assumes no programming experience, only basic computer skills. Most beginners start with the foundations course and then move on to PCEP preparation.

PCEP checks the fundamentals: syntax, control flow, functions and basic data collections. PCAP goes further into modules, exceptions, strings and object-oriented programming, and reflects the working knowledge many employers expect.

Yes, for PCAP and PCPP, which are delivered by Pearson VUE at our Authorised Test Centre in Mazzeh. For other exams, such as PCEP, we explain how they are taken through the Python Institute's own testing service. Either way, we will confirm the exact exam code before you pay any exam fee.
