Power BI Training in Damascus

Turn spreadsheets and system exports into reports people actually open. Learn Power Query, data modelling, DAX and dashboard design, then prepare for exam PL-300, so you can train and sit your exam in Damascus.

Why learn Power BI

Most organisations already hold the data they need. It sits in Excel files, accounting software, survey tools and monthly exports that nobody has time to combine. Power BI lets one analyst clean and connect those sources once, then refresh a dashboard in minutes instead of rebuilding the same report by hand every month.

For professionals in Damascus, it is one of the most practical skills to add to a CV. Finance teams, NGOs reporting to donors, sales managers and HR departments all need clear numbers they can trust, and a portfolio of well-built reports speaks for itself, whether or not you go on to sit the exam.

From first report to certification

  • Groundwork, if you are new to data: Excel tables, PivotTables and Power Pivot.
  • Report building: connecting to data, cleaning it in Power Query and designing your first interactive report.
  • Data modelling and DAX: star schemas, relationships, measures and time intelligence.
  • Exam PL-300 preparation, leading to Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
  • Staying certified: the credential runs for one year and is renewed free through a short online assessment on Microsoft Learn.
  • Next steps: analytics with Microsoft Fabric (DP-600), or data analysis with Python.

How we teach it

Every session is hands-on. You work in Power BI Desktop on realistic datasets, such as sales, budgets, stock and programme indicators, and you leave with reports you built yourself and can show an employer. Trainers explain in Arabic; DAX functions, course materials and the exam are in English, so you practise with them in English from day one.

We also teach Arabic-language reporting properly: right-to-left labels, Arabic month names and mixed Arabic and English data.

  • In person at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, Damascus.
  • Live online, sharing your screen with the trainer when you get stuck.
  • Private team programme built on your organisation's own data, handled confidentially.
  • A short course for managers who read and question dashboards rather than build them.
  • An Alalamia certificate on completion of each course.

The exam: who awards it and where you sit it

Microsoft awards the Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification to candidates who pass exam PL-300. The exam is delivered by Pearson VUE.

Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so you can sit PL-300 at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, on a secure, individually proctored workstation, under the same international security rules as any test centre worldwide. Your result is recorded directly with Microsoft.

Our advice is to build the skill first and book the exam when you are ready. Learn Power BI properly, put together a portfolio of reports, then sit PL-300. Our PL-300 course follows Microsoft's skills outline, and before you book or pay we confirm the exact exam code with you.

  • Exam fees are separate from the course fee and are paid directly to the exam provider.
  • The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.

Who it suits

  • Accountants and finance staff who prepare monthly management reports.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting officers in NGOs.
  • Sales, marketing and operations analysts.
  • HR teams tracking headcount, turnover and training.
  • Managers who want to read dashboards with confidence and ask the right questions.

If you have never built a report, start with Report Builder (Level 1) or Dashboard in a Day. If you already build reports, go to data modelling and DAX, then to PL-300 preparation. We are happy to suggest a starting point after a short conversation about your work.

Yes. In a private programme we build the exercises around your own files and reports, so your team leaves with dashboards it can use the next morning. We treat your data as confidential.
