You earn it by passing exam PL-300. Candidates should be comfortable with Power Query and DAX, and our PL-300T00 course follows the exam skills outline with hands-on labs in data preparation, modelling, visualisation and workspace management, plus practice questions.

The assessment opens six months before expiry, is open book and unproctored, focuses on recent Power BI updates, and adds a year to your certification each time you pass. If it lapses, you need to pass PL-300 again, so check Microsoft's current renewal policy on Microsoft Learn.
