The CIET Certified Digital Training Specialist (CDTS) recognises expertise in designing and delivering training online, from digital instructional design to virtual facilitation and emerging technologies. It sits in CIET's Trainer Pathway and is aimed at practising trainers, learning and development professionals and corporate facilitators who want their expertise formally assessed and recognised internationally.
Candidates complete five CIET modules (Foundations of Digital Learning, Instructional Design for Digital Platforms, Digital Facilitation, Digital Assessment and Emerging Technologies) and need 3 to 5 years of experience, including mentoring or project leadership. Assessment combines a written examination with a portfolio of real professional work, with an applied project where CIET requires it. As CIET's home in Syria, led by its appointed Country Director, Alalamia checks your eligibility, helps you with the application and guides your preparation through to assessment.

Renewal and validity
CIET certifications are valid for three years from the date of issue, and you renew before expiry by showing 30 CPD hours for each year, gained through activities such as workshops, teaching, mentoring, research or publishing, together with continuous professional practice. You must also keep to the CIET Code of Conduct, and members need to be in good standing with their annual subscription for renewal.
