AWS courses in Damascus: learn to build on Amazon's cloud

Practical Amazon Web Services training for engineers, developers and technical teams, built around how real systems are designed, priced and kept running. Train and sit your exam in Damascus.

Why learn AWS

AWS is one of the most widely used cloud platforms in the world, and much of the software that developers and freelancers in Syria now build for clients abroad is hosted on it. Startups, software houses and international employers tend to describe their infrastructure in AWS terms, so knowing the platform well opens doors to remote work and to projects that would otherwise go to someone else.

What makes AWS training valuable is the way of thinking it teaches. Choosing between a virtual server, a container or a serverless function, deciding where data should live, balancing reliability against cost: these are design decisions, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework gives you a disciplined way to make them. That judgement stays useful even when you later work on another cloud.

The AWS certification levels

AWS organises its certifications into four levels. Most people take one foundational exam, then settle on an associate credential that matches their role.

  • Foundational: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, a confident overview of AWS services, security, billing and support. Our one-day AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials course is the usual starting point.
  • Foundational, AI focus: AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01), for professionals who use generative AI and machine learning services without building models themselves.
  • Associate, the core credential: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03), prepared through Architecting on AWS.
  • Associate, other roles: Developer Associate (Developing on AWS), CloudOps Engineer Associate (Cloud Operations on AWS), Data Engineer Associate (DEA-C01) and Machine Learning Engineer Associate.
  • Professional: Solutions Architect Professional and DevOps Engineer Professional, for experienced engineers ready for complex, multi-account designs.
  • Specialty: Security, Advanced Networking and other specialities, once you have solid hands-on experience in that area.
  • Validity: AWS certifications are valid for three years, after which you recertify.

How we teach AWS

Every course mixes explanation with design work. The trainer walks through a group of services, then sets a scenario (a growing online shop, a data pipeline, a company moving out of its server room) and the class works out which services fit, roughly what they would cost and what could fail. This is also the best preparation for AWS exams, which are built around scenarios rather than definitions.

Study in person at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, join the same class live online from anywhere in Syria, or book a private programme for your development or infrastructure team, with examples drawn from your own systems. Teaching is in Arabic, with English materials and English service names throughout, so the console and the documentation feel familiar from the first day.

The AWS exams: who awards them and where you sit them

AWS certifications are awarded by Amazon Web Services, and the exams are delivered by Pearson VUE.

Alalamia is an Authorised Test Centre for Pearson VUE and Prometric, so you can sit AWS exams at our centre in Mazzeh Western Villas, on a secure, individually proctored workstation, under the same international security rules as any test centre worldwide. Your result is recorded directly with AWS.

Our advice is to build the skills first and book the exam once your practice scores are steady. Tell us the exact exam code and we will confirm it before you book or pay. The exam fee is set by AWS and paid to the exam provider, separate from the course fee. The full list of exams we deliver is on our exam booking page.

  • Awarding body: Amazon Web Services
  • Delivery: Pearson VUE, at our Authorised Test Centre in Mazzeh
  • Before you book: send us the exact exam code and we will confirm it
  • Training: open to everyone, with an Alalamia certificate on completion

Who AWS training suits

AWS courses suit people who build, run or pay for systems that live online, and the foundational levels work well for non-technical colleagues too.

  • Developers and freelancers who deploy client projects to the cloud
  • System administrators and DevOps engineers moving workloads off physical servers
  • Software houses that want one consistent way of designing on AWS
  • Data engineers and analysts working with data lakes and pipelines
  • Technical managers who need to read architecture diagrams and cloud bills with confidence
  • Sales, project and business staff, through the Cloud Practitioner and AI Practitioner levels

Questions and answers

If you are new to the cloud, start with Cloud Practitioner. If you already work with servers, networks or code, many learners go straight to Architecting on AWS and the Solutions Architect Associate. We will advise you after a short conversation.

Not for Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate. The Developer and DevOps routes do assume you can read and write code.
