Red Hat Enterprise Linux Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (RH342)
When a Linux server fails, guesswork is expensive.
About this course
When a Linux server fails, guesswork is expensive. This four-day course gives experienced administrators a calm, systematic way to find the cause of a problem and fix it, whether the trouble sits in the boot process, storage, networking, security or an application.
You work through realistic broken systems in hands-on labs, learning to read logs, collect evidence, test ideas and confirm the fix. By the end you will diagnose faster, recover with confidence and keep your Red Hat Enterprise Linux estate running smoothly.
What you'll learn
- Apply a structured, repeatable method to diagnose problems on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems
- Collect and analyse logs, system information and diagnostic data with standard Red Hat tools
- Diagnose and resolve boot failures, including bootloader, systemd and root file system issues
- Identify and correct hardware, kernel module and storage problems, including LVM and file system faults
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, name resolution and service availability
- Resolve authentication, permission and SELinux-related access problems
- Investigate application failures, memory issues and kernel crashes using debugging and core dump tools
