Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes
The Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes recognised professionals who could run and manage containerised services, create custom container images and deploy single- and multi-container applications on Red Hat OpenShift. It suited developers, administrators and site reliability engineers new to container orchestration.
It was earned through the hands-on exam EX180, which Red Hat has retired; the EX180 code now belongs to the entry-level Red Hat Certified Technologist in OpenShift exam. Our OpenShift Administration I course (DO180) builds the same container and Kubernetes skills, and OpenShift Administration II (DO280) is the natural next step towards EX280.

Renewal and validity
Red Hat certifications stay current for three years, and specialist credentials have traditionally been renewed by passing the same exam again, which is no longer possible for this one. Red Hat's updated paths can renew your current certifications when you earn another at the same or a higher level, so check its current policy to see how this applies to your record, because requirements change.
