Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
The Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) proves that you can automate Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration at scale with Ansible, writing playbooks and roles that configure many systems consistently. It is held by senior Linux administrators and DevOps engineers who manage large fleets of servers.
The credential builds on a current RHCSA and the performance-based exam EX294, which tests real automation tasks on live systems. In Red Hat's reorganised tracks, EX294 also awards the Advanced System Administrator in Ansible title and, together with RHCSA, leads to Red Hat Certified Engineer in Ansible. Our Ansible automation course (RH294) prepares you with hands-on labs that mirror the exam's practical format.

Renewal and validity
Red Hat certifications stay current for three years from the date earned, and Red Hat's updated renewal paths let you renew your certifications by passing the exam for your highest-level certification again, earning another certification at the same level, or advancing to a higher level. Red Hat has been reorganising its certification tracks, so check its current renewal policy before your three years are up, because requirements change.
