Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
The Power Platform Developer Associate proves that you can design, build, test and troubleshoot solutions that extend Microsoft Power Platform with code, from custom user experiences and business logic to integrations, Power Fx and AI-driven automation. It is held by developers who bring professional coding skills to low-code projects.
The certification has been earned through exam PL-400, which Microsoft is now moving to an updated successor exam with a stronger focus on AI-powered solutions. Candidates usually have experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, JSON and web APIs, and Power Platform Fundamentals is a useful base; our PL-400 course follows the exam objectives with guided labs on Dataverse, plug-ins, integrations and application lifecycle management, plus practice questions.

Renewal and validity
Role-based certifications are valid for one year, and the renewal assessment opens on Microsoft Learn six months before expiry; it is shorter than the original exam, unproctored and open book, and each pass extends the certification by a year from its expiry date. Microsoft revises its renewal rules from time to time, so check the current policy on Microsoft Learn before you plan.
