The Cybersecurity Architect Expert proves that you can translate a security strategy into Zero Trust architectures that protect identity, devices, data, AI, applications, networks and infrastructure, including governance, risk and compliance, and security operations. It is held by senior security professionals who design solutions and guide their implementation across the organisation.
You earn it by passing exam SC-100 while holding one of the qualifying associate certifications: Identity and Access Administrator, Security Operations Analyst or Cloud and AI Security Engineer. Candidates bring expert skills in at least one security area, and our SC-100 course works through architecture scenarios and case studies with focused practice on the exam's design questions.

Renewal and validity
The renewal assessment opens six months before expiry, is shorter than the original exam and unproctored, and each pass extends the certification by one year; your expert certification does not lapse if the associate prerequisite expires, but each one is renewed on its own. Microsoft revises its renewal rules from time to time, so check the current policy on Microsoft Learn.
