Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
The Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty proves that you can plan, deliver, manage and monitor virtual desktops and remote apps on Azure for any device. It is held by server and desktop administrators who run virtual desktop environments for their organisations.
You earn it by passing exam AZ-140, which covers infrastructure, identity and security, user environments and apps, and monitoring and maintenance. Candidates have experience with Azure compute, networking, identity and storage, and our Configure and Operate Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop course (AZ-140T00) follows the exam skills outline with guided labs and practice questions.

Renewal and validity
The renewal assessment opens six months before expiry, is shorter than the exam, unproctored and open book, and each pass adds one year; if the certification lapses, you must pass the exam again. Microsoft revises its renewal rules from time to time, so check the current policy on Microsoft Learn.
