Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty
The Azure IoT Developer Specialty recognised developers who built and maintained the cloud and edge parts of IoT solutions, from IoT Hub and device provisioning to IoT Edge modules, data processing and security. It was held by IoT and embedded developers working with Azure.
Microsoft has retired exam AZ-220 and its renewal assessment, so the credential can no longer be earned or renewed. IoT development skills remain valuable, and a current Azure developer credential such as the Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate is a good way to validate your cloud development work.

Renewal and validity
Holders keep the credential on their Microsoft Learn transcript, where it stays active until its expiry date and then moves to certification history. To hold a current developer credential, consider the Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate, and check Microsoft's current policy on Microsoft Learn because requirements change.
