Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
The Azure Database Administrator Associate proves that you can manage cloud and hybrid relational databases built on Azure SQL services and SQL Server, covering availability, security, performance and automation. It is held by database administrators and data platform engineers.
You earn it by passing exam DP-300, which also covers migration strategies and high availability and disaster recovery. Candidates work with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server, and our Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions course (DP-300T00) follows the exam skills outline with guided labs, hands-on T-SQL exercises and practice questions.

Renewal and validity
Your renewal window opens six months before expiry, and the open-book, unproctored assessment checks recent updates relevant to the role; passing extends the certification by one year. A lapsed certification can only be regained by passing DP-300 again, so check Microsoft's current policy on Microsoft Learn.
