Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer
The Azure Data Engineer Associate recognised engineers who integrated, transformed and consolidated data from structured, unstructured and streaming sources into analytics-ready stores on Azure. It was held by data engineers working with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks and Data Lake Storage.
Microsoft has retired exam DP-203 and its renewal assessment, so the credential can no longer be earned or renewed. Our Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure course (DP-203T00) still builds core pipeline and data lake skills, and the Fabric Data Engineer Associate is Microsoft's current data engineering certification.

Renewal and validity
A retired Microsoft certification stays active on your transcript only until it expires and then moves to your certification history, with no renewal route. To hold a current data engineering credential, consider the Fabric Data Engineer Associate, which renews yearly free online, and check Microsoft's current policy on Microsoft Learn because requirements change.
