Microsoft now awards it through a refreshed exam that replaced AI-900 and also checks that you can build simple AI solutions with Microsoft Foundry and expects basic Python knowledge. Microsoft does not apply annual renewal to its Fundamentals certifications, so the credential stays on your Microsoft Learn transcript once earned. The associate, expert and specialty certifications you earn next do expire yearly, so check Microsoft's current renewal policy on Microsoft Learn, as rules change.
