Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals confirmed a foundational understanding of Microsoft 365: its productivity apps and cloud services, security, compliance and privacy, and how licensing and support work. It was held by business users, IT newcomers and sales or support staff starting out with Microsoft 365.
Microsoft has retired exam MS-900, so the credential is no longer issued to new candidates, though everyone who earned it keeps it. Our Microsoft 365 Fundamentals course (MS-900T01) still gives you a clear grounding in cloud concepts and Microsoft 365 services, and works well as a first step towards the Teams Administrator or Endpoint Administrator associate certifications.

Renewal and validity
Fundamentals certifications carry no renewal requirement, and Microsoft keeps a retired credential with no expiry date in the active section of your Microsoft Learn transcript for two years after retirement. For a current, renewable credential, consider an associate certification such as Teams Administrator or Endpoint Administrator, and check Microsoft's current policy because requirements change.
