The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) is the best-known global credential for internal auditors. It shows that you understand the internal audit standards, can plan and carry out engagements, and can give assurance and advice on governance, risk and control. It is held by internal auditors, audit managers, risk and compliance staff and audit committee advisers.
You earn it by passing three exams, Part 1 on the essentials of internal auditing, Part 2 on the practice of internal auditing and Part 3 on business knowledge for internal auditing, and by meeting The IIA's education and experience requirements. Our three preparation courses follow each part's published syllabus with practical audit cases and exam-style questions, so you strengthen your day-to-day work while you prepare.
